Swatch Forum Eli

Image
Swatch Forum Original Photo This picture is of some trees and scenery on a trail near my house. I thought all the colors were very vibrant and would be good use for the swatch assignment. I used the main colors from the tree base, the light green from the grass on the bottom/middle right, and of course the blue sky! This is the set of tints I created for the swatch grid, as I watched the instructional videos and made different tints for each swatch by finding the numbers for CMYK. I used the rectangle tool next to make nameplates shown below. I used the text tool to add my name and the description while centering and finding the correct font and size of the letters. I thought they turned out pretty well! I learned how to make tints of colors and being able to create a swatch!

Meme Forum!

Meme Forum For this assignment, I would say before and after completing the meme, I knew it would be my favorite activity to do in this class. I love memes, and have been interested in them ever since middle school. Even in high school, I downloaded Adobe Photoshop on my phone and made a few memes regarding some drama in my school and posted them on social media.  Using Photoshop on my laptop, I started by selecting two photos that I could merge for the meme. I used a picture of my favorite artist, Playboi Carti, sleeping in the studio. I added the notorious troll face since Carti is known for trolling his fans and I thought it was fitting. It has been 2 years since he has released an album, so fans are eager to hear his new music which is dropping very soon. I cropped the outline of the Troll Face by using the selection tool and added it to the layer with the sleeping Carti picture. Like the videos told me, I made the troll face a smart filter so I could move it around an...

Instagramish  Eli Gauldin Before:  After: Before:  After:  Before:  After:  I was doing this assignment with two other classmates inside of the Communications building and decided to use pictures and items from inside the building. I found some neat looking lamps and vases to include for my pictures. While using Photoshop, I didn’t have a plan going in to make a filter, I mainly just did it on the fly and messed around with the layers. I ended up using the Brightness/Contrast filter first, having brightness set to -100 and Contrast to 45. Next, I tried out the Exposure layer having Exposure at -1.23, Offset at +0.0294 and Gamma Correction at 1.09. My last layer was the Hue/Saturation which was the most beneficial layer in my opinion since it gave the filters a dark green look. Hue was at +145, Saturation was at -24, and lastly Lightness was set too -24. I learned that there is so many options in Photoshop to alter ...

Eli Gauldin  .                January 23 2020 Compositions of the Cottrell Building For my composition project blog I decided to use objects and viewpoints from inside the Cottrell Building on the High Point University campus. Instead of using the outside view of buildings like a lot of pictures I have seen, I decided to use the inside of the building for my pictures. I got this idea when I was studying in Cottrell and looked around for some different composition rules! Negative Space While studying and doing work in Cottrell, I looked around the building to see if I could find some negative space ideas for this blog. I found a screen device on the wall of the second floor with just a wall behind it, so I decided this would be good for negative space. The screen of the electronic device shines compared to the white/grayish wall behind it. Framing For this picture, I tried to frame this image...
